A New Jambalaya- A Spin On An Already Delicious Dish

My husband has always been a fan of the idea of Jambalaya. He loves shrimp and he loves Polish Kielbasa. Plus, he could eat rice every night if I made it. I like the idea because it is basically a one-pot meal and the prep work is the most time-consuming. The only issue is that the Mister has never been a fan of Cajun and Creole seasoning. So, I spent some time wracking my brain trying to come up with a new jambalaya recipe that he would love and the kids would eat. I combined some of the foods that he loves (like shrimp, sausage, & ginger) and put an Asian spin on the classic Jambalaya dish. A New Jambalaya- A Spin On A Delicious Dish For this New Jambalaya, I decided to combine the basic ingredients of Jambalaya with a Teriyaki flavor. Since the cooking portion of this recipe…

Bring More Physical Education & Activity Into Homeschool & Your Family

If there is one thing I have learned being a homeschool parent, it is that that teaching a physical education often takes the back burner. With younger children, this wasn’t much of a worry. After all, younger kids spend their free time running around; which provides them with an adequate amount of movement and exercise. But what about with older children? It is no surprise that the physical activity of preteens & teenagers slows down. Not only does their workload in school increase, leaving them with less free time, but their interest in things like tag and climbing trees decreases. Since physical activity is so important for lifelong health, it is imperative that we educators Bring More Physical Education & Activity Into Homeschool & Your Family. Why mention family? Family life is, too often, becoming more separate. As kids get older their interests change and they tend to spend less…

14 Holistic Health Essentials Every Household Needs

We all have some sort of medicine cabinet. Band-aids, Tylonal, Neosporin, and so on… these are the norms for most households. In fact, these were normal things that we kept in our home for so long. Until I journeyed into holistic health and living a cleaner life. I discovered that so many of the products we use for our health have long term effects ON our health. Thus making them not-so-beneficial to our bodies or well-being. It was in this moment that I began swapping out our typical medicine cabinet products for more natural products. As time passed and knowledge grew, I created a custom, all-natural medicine cabinet to fit the needs of any family. Here are 14 Holistic Health Essentials Every Household Needs. The information in this post should not replace the expert opinion of a medical professional. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any ailment.…

Saving money is so important when it comes to family life. After all, having four kids means never-ending, and sometimes unexpected, expenses. Bills rack up so quickly sometimes and before you know it you have to figure out how to adjust the budget and where to cut costs. In our family, the debate always came down to our cable bill; can we give up cable and survive? My husband loves cable. He has always been one of those people who wants needs all of the channels. So we always had the biggest package. Aside from this he was a huge boxing & mma enthusiast. So this meant  multiple pay-per-view events every month.
